Looking for a rewarding career?
Let Doncaster pave the way
Doncaster’s Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP) has
seen a professional rugby player, a fitness instructor,
a travel agent and a graphic designer – to name but
a few – who have followed the scheme and found
full time teaching posts in Doncaster schools over recent
years.
The Doncaster GTP Partnership (Doncaster schools, Local
Authority and Doncaster College) provides an accredited
alternative route to the more traditional University
based teacher training courses.
The GTP gives individuals the chance to share their experience
and knowledge with Doncaster’s young people at
the same time as providing them with the opportunity
to change direction and develop a rewarding career in
teaching.
Benefits of the scheme include the fact that trainees
can obtain Qualified Teacher Status in just one year
whilst working in a local school and helping to meet
Doncaster’s specific community needs. With a starting
salary of at least £14,391 p.a. the scheme offers
graduates from any walk of life the opportunity to join
the teaching profession without having to go back to
school themselves!
If you’re an inspiring, well motivated and enthusiastic
graduate who meets the relevant criteria – we want
to hear from you!
You
must have:
• A full degree, ideally 2:2 or
above, where at least half the degree is in a
relevant national curriculum
subject;
• GCSE at grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths
AND English;
• GCSE at grade C or above (or equivalent)
in Science – (Where
